Tree removal
Whole trees taken down, including the awkward ones: towering over the house, or growing close to the power lines. Reviewers describe exactly those jobs.
Climbing and rigging
When there's no room to drop a tree, Joel climbs it. The top comes off first, cut into small pieces and lowered down on ropes and pulleys, so nothing lands on your roof or your garden.
Lopping and pruning
Trimming back branches that hang over the roof, the driveway or the neighbours. A few trees in the yard or one big gum, it's the same careful crew.
Stump grinding
Once the tree's gone, the stump can go too. Ground out so you can lawn, plant or pave over the spot.
Big plants and palms
Established clumps of Strelitzia nicolai, a large yucca, the plants that have quietly taken over a corner of the yard. Cut out and cleared away.
The clean-up
Branches go through the chipper or onto the truck, the logs get cut into rounds, and the street gets a going-over with the blower before the crew leaves.

Step 02: Climb
Up the tree, or up the lift
Roped in and working from the top down, or from a boom lift when the site allows. Small pieces, lowered under control.
Step 03: Cut
Down to the ground
The trunk comes down in sections and gets cut into rounds on the ground.
Step 04: Tidy
Chipped, loaded and swept
The green waste is chipped or loaded on the JD truck, the stump ground if you want it gone, and the area left tidy.

Joel, his crew, and one very busy truck.
JD is Joel Dibben. He's been running his own tree business under his own name since 2008, and he's based right here in Umina Beach. Customers deal with him directly: he quotes the job, he climbs the tree, and he answers the reviews himself.
He works with a small crew, and reviewers notice how well they work together. One customer called Joel “good at problem solving”, which is what you want on the day a tree turns out to be harder than it looked.
